Colour & collage portraits with Josie Brookes

Spend the evening experimenting with mark making and textures in an intuitive and exciting way.

You will create your own personal colour ‘bases’ using a whole host of materials including paints, inks, pens, pencils and pastels. You will then use your colour bases and have fun combining them with collage techniques to create beautifully illustrated portraits.

Illustrator Josie Brookes with give an introduction to her work, a live demo showing specific techniques and then a guided workshop

All materials included, 8-16 year olds welcome with their adults.

Questions
What will I be doing? You will be working with old riso printed posters and basic art materials to create collage portraits.

Should I bring anything? No!

Do I need any previous experience? No, this is a course for all – you just need to be open to coming and playing around, its relaxed and sociable.

Will I go home with finished work? Yes!

Can I bring my child? children 8-14 are welcome, we have kids and adults tickets available.

What if I’m scared of drawing faces and people? Don’t be...its way easier with collage and Josie is an expert, she will guide you through the process,

What will I do if I’m hungry or thirsty? Cobalt sells very simple food, toasties, crisps, fruit etc , we have a coffee machine and a fully stocked bar!
