The “Booking Tours, PRS and other Tedious Things” workshop will run from 6-8pm on Saturday the 30th May at Cobalt Studios. This laid back, participant-lead Q+A session aims to answer any questions emerging artists may have, without trying to presume what they already know. Want to know more about booking tours/live gigs? Or maybe you don’t know what the job of an agent really is? Feel overwhelmed by PPL and PRS? No question is too big or too small for our panel of guests.
On the panel we have: Polly Bolton- Live Agent at STRADA Rianne Thompson- BBC Music Introducing on Radio Tees Laura May- Publisher Bradley Kulisic- Manager/Distributor
Upon arrival, everyone will be equipped with a name badge, pen and notebook. Once seated we’ll go round the table and introduce ourselves/explain a bit about what our jobs entail or what sort of music we play as artists. After this intro, participants will then write down questions they have for the panel (can be anything from 'what is a manager', to 'how do you book tours’- as I said before, no question is too big or too small).
There will then be a short tea and coffee break while participants network with each other, and panel members look through the questions asked. Everyone will then come back together and the questions will be discussed in an informal/open manner, during which artists are encouraged to raise a hand to ask questions.
